We are delighted that Sasha Kazantseva-Miller - entrepreneur, investor, 'Island Mum' and sustainability champion - has announced her decision to seek election, joining the Guernsey Partnership's independents in our pledge to the island.
Sasha signed the partnership pledge on Tuesday 25 August witnessed by her fellow independent candidates.
Sasha is an entrepreneur and investor with a background in technology enterprises and global brands including Google, L’Oreal and Priceline. She holds an MBA from INSEAD and studied at the London School of Economics. She and her husband Geoff Miller made Guernsey their home eight years ago: they married here and are now raising their three locally born children.
Sasha has been very active in Guernsey life, heading “Island Mums” for five years, and serving on a number of significant commercial and community boards, including Guernsey Ports and Startup Guernsey, and co-founding the Chamber of Commerce Sustainable Business Initiative. She also represented Guernsey in the Gotland Island games in 2017, playing volleyball.
Sasha said: “I was inspired to stand for election after launching the Transition Island project, exploring ideas for sustainable development. If elected, I intend to bring my business acumen and love of Guernsey’s environment to bear in the States assembly. I have pledged to act independently and in a spirit of collaboration to help make the next States Assembly one of action, not just words.”
Lyndon Trott said, “We are delighted that someone with Sasha’s commercial experience, business stature and community commitment has become one of the independent candidates running as part of our partnership. She would make an excellent deputy and will help our community and economy move forward.”
